In conjunction with the release of two new research reports, Ross Finnie, Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa, and Richard Wiggers, HEQCO Research Director, discuss the issues surrounding the question "Who Pursues Higher Education?"
Check out the two new reports, Access to Postsecondary Education: How Ontario Compares and Under-represented Groupss in Postsecondary Education in Ontario: Evidence from the Youth in Transition Survey, as well as other HEQCO publications here http://heqco.ca/en-CA/Research/Research%20Publications/Pages/default.aspx
Ross Finnie has made a pet project out of peddling a high fees, high debt model of post secondary education for nearly 15 years. He frequently mistakes politics for statistics when he pretends that increasing enrolment rates (ie. demand) demonstrate that there are no financial barriers to post-secondary education. Of course, he cares little about who gets in to university and the impact of debt upon their grades and post-graduate lives.
