  • I took it for an oil change to dealer and they say i have a powstearing boot busted and licking. $500 repares. I wonder how can i fix it. I dont feel any change in the steering response yet .

  • @aleksankazakov Well, if the rack is leaking, that would require either replacement of the rack seals, or a new steering rack, the boot is simply there to ensure that no external dirt, dust, or objects are able to get to where the steering shafts enter the rack. If your rack is leaking and the boot is busted, you will most likely see a few drops of a puddle on the ground when the car sits for a few hours.

  • Does this apply to right hand steering as well? I have the problem but if I get a LH-30 can it be fitted to the right hand steering?

  • great video!

  • @528im52 well they said it licks on the power steering rack. and they say it can damage the rack 9 which i don't think is likely)

  • Good lord does everything on these E46s have a tendency to leak, shear, rattle, back out, corrode, and break down? Does BMW test this stuff for reliability at all?
