Moshi!~ Hello.
-
ossan.....Sounds like otosan....what's close to chichi?
-
Ossan! haha, but I have not heard such a remark. for Priest of a temple. I have usually heard it like this. "Obou-san", "Bon-san" I was born in and from Kansai. May be "Osyou-san" pronounced short, might have heard it "Ossan". MA- SHIKASHI- MECCHA- OMOROI- but, funny videos, lol :-)) Ossan! haha thanks!
-
They both sound... exactly the same to me. I'll just have to not use the word. I'll end up calling some old guy a monk, or a monk an old guy. Wouldn't want to tick a monk off!

@itsumonihon I know that jackass i was joking.
-
btw ossan also is a rude / mean term for a middle aged guy (starts from around 25-30 for guys u don't like and wanna make fun of their age). just sayin

how many -ben's are there and how diverse are them? are they that different dialects that people in japan might not understand each other?

I don't know how many dialects there are in Japan.
It's hard for me to understand Aomori-ben. Aomori is one of prefectures in Japan.
