Thanks heaps for reply. I'm looking at your set-up and it's very similar to how i want my own & I'm running around the same amount of ducting, I was going to hook-up to my 2hp dust extractor bag type. I'm thinking this cyclone would work a lot better? What is the difference between the two? What hp is your unit and does it do a good job? looking at 3hp cyclone here in New Zealand "MAAAN" $4500 There are cheaper, more powerful second hand ones around but there 3 phase & i only have single. Cheers

@jamebo2444 I have a 5HP ClearVue cyclone and is certainly gets the job done. Not sure 2HP would be sufficient for that length of pipe. But if the pipe is in place, you can always test it with your dust collector and upgrade if need be.

Thankyou for your tips, Im just trying to find out the dynamic's for setting up my shed for dust collection and I have multiple machines to run. Does it make any difference how far away my small 2hp dust extractor is from my machines? My Thicknesser needs the best extraction out of them all so should i have extractor next to it? Ideally i would have it outside just under cover but will be 8 meters of pipe away. Thanks for any advise you can give me on the matter. :)

@jamebo2444 No doubt about it, the further the run of pipe, the less effective the dust collection. So its best to keep the run as short as possible. If the unit is powerful enough, you can place it where ever you want. But its hard to say for sure with 2HP. I would just test it out on a few longer runs and see how well it works.

Hey marc your shop looks great, I was thinking bout getting a clear vue, unfortunately my ceilings do not reach the 8' recommended height, on the barrel i can redesign but do the filters have to hang plum? or do they have any give? if they were twisted in an S shape would they still work properly?. I am going get in contact with clear vue themselves but wanted to ask some one first

@naliuj There really isn't any give in those filters at all and bending them would definitely do some damage. But i don't think they have to be vertical to work. Ed from ClearVue will help answer any questions you might have about the specifics.
