Time for another cold start Video... Another 7.3 PSD, This is a 96, I have less than $800 in the entire truck... LOL
Temp when I took this vid was -27C, it was -31 2 hours prior, truck had not ran in 12 hours, and I forgot to plug it in.

And, yes, it used to be an automatic...
Truck has a couple questionable injectors, and even warm has a slightly rough idle, but, it runs just fine.

  • have you changed out glow plugs, harness and relays and all that?

  • @slingingofstars69 Everything but the injectors work as they should, all glows are good, relays it consumes on a regular basis. It's ran like that for at least 8 years. I'm not too concerned as it always runs, and I picked up a $600 96 F350 crew to replace it

  • @f100swb where are you finding these deals i want a cheap mid 90's reg cab f350 diesel for a screw around truck... but they all seem to be priced around $10,000

  • @benl8903 They're out there, it's just the non runners and high milers that are cheap, this truck was a non runner(ecm was dead) and the 96 I just picked up had a cracked bellhousing from a failed dual mass flywheel.. Finding a reg cab is like a needle in a haystack though, they tend to be beat up work trucks or mint and expensive.

  • as soon as i seen that dodge i paused this video and went and looked for a video of that cummins!

  • @dmcintyre90 mine would misfire in -27 too lol

  • OHH YEAAA!!! WAKE UP YEAA!!

  • @343ofFDNYsBRAVEST Mine was like that, but I had a manual trans sub harness laying around, I spend alot of time off pavement, so getting all that extra wiring out of there was a good thing, also, I had to swap the harness and change the ECM to get my cruise back.

  • @f100swb I have a way of starting the truck just unbolt the MLPS and ziptie it out of the somehwere l know because I was going to do the swa before l found another automatic and i had done it to see if the truck tould still start and it worked

  • @343ofFDNYsBRAVEST

It was done when I got the truck, but, it isn't too bad, provided you have a donor truck, you need trans, driveshafts, flywheel, clutch, pedal assembly, and the manual transmission wiring sub-harness, or you can jump out the existing one so it starts. It's all bolt in, you just need the parts.

  • How hard was the transmission swap?? want to do it on my 94

  • Beautifull!

  • chug chug chug

  • Dude, that truck is misfiring but runs ok!

  • I can't believe that started...Some engines are miracles

  • @1972JICase970 Yup... It's an 8 Lug F150... Very rare model... LOL

At least this one is actually registered as a F250, both my 6.9 truck and my wheeling trucks started life as, and are still registered as reg cab short bed 6 cyl 2wd F100's... lol
