This sounds like a good product and I do agree with you about a gauge having the configuration for preset angles. You could adapt this if you have the time, tools and patience. If you haven't already done so, get in touch with festal and explain there is an issue with the product where a solution can change the stability of the tool. I may take one on myself as I need a tool for large cutting work for angle settings, etc. worth a go.
