An original song I wrote, entitled "The Apple."
LYRICS:
Before I was a woman,
I was a bone,
Taken from your raw side.
Plants knew our footsteps,
We learned birds' names,
On afternoons so wide.
Dear Adam, believe me,
Things didn't go as planned.
Dear Adam, forgive me,
This garden's so out of hand.
Outstretched palms,
Sweetened hands,
And my mouth full of core.
This fruit dividing
How we once loved,
Your sons and shame I bore.
Dear Adam, believe me,
Things didn't go as planned.
Dear Adam, forgive me,
This garden's so out of hand.
Dear Adam, please hear me:
This was not my plan.
Dear Adam, forgive me,
Though Eden's now dry land.
Concede, for the apple's long been brown.
My darling, receive me,
For the serpent brought me down.
This is awesome. Your voice is fantastic and quirky. This is exactly the sort of thing I'm constantly trying to write and I could definitely see it on the radio or something - you remind me of Florence Welch, Feist, Joanna Newsom, that sort of artist - awesome voices and well-written songs. I'm rambling but basically I love this.

@georgeflightly Honestly, this could not have been a kinder comment. Thank you so, so very much! How encouraging. I'm going to record this song in a couple of weeks, because a friend wants to use it for a movie. So, I'll hit you up with a message and a free mp3. Many thanks! Best,
Carmyn
