Even in places where the venomous copperhead doesn't occur, people mistake harmless snakes for copperheads and kill them.
Copperheads live in and near rocky, wooded hillsides. Their bite can be serious, but are never deadly, not even to young children.
In Missouri, for example, no one has ever died from a copperhead bite, even though the animal is plentiful.

  • Copperheads dont seem to be very aggresive when i see them... dont kill them just leave them alone

  • "in Missouri noone has ever died of a copperhead bite"... that is not true. Where I live, one person died from a copperhead bite. He was a five year old. That was about 12 years ago.

  • We had a mother of 2 girls pick one up and try to 'teach' her daughters that snakes aren't bad. Though snakes aren't bad, that poor, misguided lady went to the hospital...quite ill.

  • @brehmerboy Not fun at all. what if you were the poor snake being killed by people.

    Copperheads RULE!

  • @coltonneal1432 dude look at the snake its facial expression tells a differen't story lol

  • @MondoMedia7 You're wasting your ammo, bud.

  • Copperheads are not aggressive as long as you don't stand on their damn head. People can't get it out of their head that all venomous snakes are mean.

  • kill em all

  • "Not even to young children." I beg to differ.

  • @RESILIENT1AMERICA probably a cottonmouth, but however they don't put peopleinto account who are allergic. A few people have died when they were allergic to the venom. Which can kill someone very quickly.

  • The mortality rate of copperhead snakebites is about 1 fatality per 2500 bites. Dog bites probably cause as many fatalities as do copperheads.

  • @RESILIENT1AMERICA here in ky too
