http://www.getpublishedtv.com Book Editing In this episode Dale Beaumont goes through strategies and tips to use to find a great editor that is right for your book. He explains the high importance of getting the "right" editor and the steps you should take to ensure you have a suitable person for the job.
The past two videos have also been about book editing so if you haven't already seen those make sure you go back and check them out.
$500 to edit 5,000 words = $25 per page = outrageous.
Let's say you come across four editors who aren't a good match (very possible)... that would be losing two thousand dollars.
While I entirely agree that a test edit is essential, rather than just giving some editor one's whole novel, you need to get real on how to do such. A get-acquainted offer should be far, far, FAR less than the dollars you're recklessly mentioning in your video. Good general advic is spoiled from such bad details.
