@phantom42 well that is good.

Yes, 10k is a reasonably average price. If you can manage to get directly from a breeder, you might be able to get one for a LITTLE bit cheaper, but not a whole lot. If you get one from a store, you'll likely pay closer to 14-16k.

Oh I see. I've been doing research on the hyacinths for quite some time now and just trying to make sure the average going price is 10,000. I discovered a place in Miami that looks pleasant to the eye (via the website), however some of the hy's were a mere 650..which had me wondering.

We went through a third party who dealt with the breeder, so we really don't have a whole lot of info on them except to say that we weren't 100% happy with some of the things we were told about them. It turns out that our third party was a bit unreliable too though, so we don't know how much of what was true.

Sweet video =)
I see an old post of yours says your bird came (from a breeder) in the florida keys. If you don't mind my asking, what did you pay for her and are you still in contact with the breeder? I only know of one person/business that handles hyacinth macaws. Reason I'm asking is I live in Miami so I don't mind driving to the FL keys to see what the breeder has.
Thanks.

Is this the first day of your bird's delivery to your home? Nice.
that to me is a small cage. Well it looks like it to me.

@MOSMIO Yes, it was a small travel crate. It was the cage that the seller provided for us to bring her home. The crate was returned shortly after. Ivy's new travel cage has plenty of room for her to stand up, turn around and generally be comfortable.
Ivy's regular cage measures 36"x48"x77". Her sleep cage is not much smaller. She has plenty of room.
