My 2 Columbian Shark Catfish. This is probably their 10th time trying to breed. Eggs have been laid twice. Brackish water, FX5 filtration.

  • Awesome fish! May I ask why there is nothing in your tank though? I have two columbian sharks male and female as well, only 5 inches long at this point, doing similar behaviors? but i think still not sexually mature...

  • @jmcnei16x There's nothing in my tank because I don't want to limit any swimming space. I have tried putting in plants and wood but they don't care for hiding places and they don't like the plants.

& yea I don't think my male is sexually mature, even though he is 10 inches. Because the female lays eggs on occasion but they never get fertilized. You should definitely put a video up sometime of their behavior (:

  • i love watching your videos of these guys im waiting for mine to get that big : )

  • @cOdGd7 Thank you (:

Definitely keep me posted with the growth of yours ((:

  • Do you know the way to tell the difference between male and female columbian shark, because if you do I would love to know before buying two.

  • My sharks are about 6 inches, i have 3 of them but i do not know how to determine the sex. I noticed that the one of your sharks has different back bottom fins. Could that have something to do with it?

  • nice sharks..your water condition must be optimum thats why they breeding so much..that crystal clear water is proof its self =)

  • how often do they lay eggs and how hard is it too get them to breed

  • And how big is your tank ? Thanks again

  • How do you know if there are male or female ?Thanks

  • Awesome catfish, hello from MFK!
