GK EXPO 2009: PASASALAMAT AT WALANG IWANAN
Despite the short preparation time for the expo this year with GK workers coming from Operation GK Walang Iwanan relief operations, many people who attended believed that the event was blessed. From the early morning rain shower to the sun shining brightly throughout the day, heaven smiled upon the people who gathered at the Fort Bonifacio Grounds in Taguig, City.
Indeed, in spite of the tragedy of the past weeks, there was much to be thankful for: "We are thanking God for heroism, for so many resources, for radical generosity, the poor giving..." said GK executive director Luis Oquinena.
As GK helps restore and rebuild her beloved Philippines and address the needs of affected GK communities and other devastated areas, it re-affirmed its commitment to the words: Walang Iwanan. (No one is left behind).
In a symbolic show of unity, the top two presidential candidates Noynoy Aquino and Manny Villar where together with Gawad Kalinga for the poor. Vice President Noli de Castro was also present and re-affirmed his conviction from last year: "Anuman ang mangyari, walang iwanan... at makakaasa silang hindi sila iiwan." (Whatever happens, no one will be left behind. They can trust that they will not be left behind).
GK's next steps was also declared: "We have been in relief mode for the past 20 years. Let's do "rescue" from danger zones (and bring families to safety). Let's really rescue these families from the next tragedy," Luis said. He also announced that Operation GK Walang Iwanan will be feeding 1,200 children twice a day for the next 90 days from October 25 to December 25, 2009. So that we will all have a reason to celebrate Christmas. "Let us encourage one another, pray for one another. Let us leave no one behind."
The GK kapitbahayan, caretakers, workers, partners and volunteers renewed themselves with a Thanksgiving Mass and enjoyed performances from Asia's songbird Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Iza Calzado, QYork, Philippine All Stars and Filipino bands. GK Ambassadors Mikee Cojuangco and Victor Basa hosted a successful Ms. Mabuhay Pageant where Esperenza Lecera from GK Bukidnon was crowned. Partners and volunteers including various mayors from all over Luzon joined the Martsa Laban sa Kahirapan (Parade over Poverty). Until the next GK Expo on 10.10.10. Mabuhay ka GK Bayani.

@popups46okay Is this the new style of RV basher? how's your friend fashionbaby? LOL! I wonder how many months you studied this video just to find something that could diminish the fact that Regine is definitely a class of her own. Seems that you are the one mimicking Fashionbaby's argument. Nice try though! *smile*

@popups46okay it seems that you are just nitpicking but again, all video clips here are authentic. And its not just as easy as saying that others can do ALL of it by just mimicking her, LOL! I made this channel in appreciation of RV and for those who will appreciate it and find a thing or two that can help them analyze and try their potentials. If u are not satisfied with the content of this video and you dont understand my intention then its not my problem.

continue... I would say talk about more of how to do it, not how to handle it. Because what you said in your video is great and true, but anybody who loves Regine and can sing can do what she can by just micmicing her. Anybody who can sing, can do what Regine was doing in this video without knowing what they're called. About the musical terms, please make sure you use them correctly. i.e 3:19 I didn't hear any cres/decres. And at 5:15 you can't belt a note with a staccato.
popups46okay 11 months ago
@popups46okay 3:19 is a part of the note sustaine from 3:10 to 3:24. and there is indeed a gradual increase and decrease in volume that happened there. i already admitted mistake in the staccato part but i still maintain that the totality of the video can give those who appreciate it an overview of the what a skilled musician can do as she ascends higher. If u will watch from 6.1 to 6.5 you will know that I hardly talk of belting here nor did i said something like belting a staccato. LOL

@TheReginified Well that makes more sense. I didn't watch your other videos, so I thought this video is all about your love for Regine and not really about music. But that's not the point though, I love Regine too. About the Cres/Decres.. I don't know, I'm still not convinced that there was a cres/decres that happened. Like I got your point she really did got louder at that part and got lower at the end, I'm thinking it's probably the sound engineers that edits the microphones of the singers.
popups46okay 11 months ago
@popups46okayThen you should train your ears more so we can avoid blaming the sound engineers *smile* And please, try not to appear uninformed by making comments based on other people's comments and dont resort to discrediting me just because you failed to discredit the WHOLE content of this video. LOVE is different from the word APPRECIATION? Its good that my appreciation of her enormous talent is supported by many of great LIVE performances. If its not music to you, again, its not problem LOL
