A great coastline sea kayak paddling route for anyone on the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada. Put in at Dunks Bay, just south of Tobermory, is a sand beach and 2.5 hours paddling south will get you to "The Grotto" on Bruce Peninsula National Park lands.

Lots of things to see along this coastline including a sea stack in "Little Cove", water level and high escarpment sea caves - one you can even paddle into! - and of course "The Grotto" the largest of the sea caves with a surprise inside.

Georgian Bay is a large, volitile body of water so exprience and saftey are required. This is a remote protected area with minimal access.

  • I just picked up a new kayak and I look forward to exploring the coasts near Tobermory this summer!

    Fantastic video!

  • @WanderingRover Thanks for the compliment, enjoy the paddling!

  • Looks Awesome ! We are just south in Hanover and plan on doing this trip next summer,

never knew about it till I saw your vid :-)

  • @repsolal Thanks very much for your comment. I instruct and guide sea kayakers from Tobermory down to Southampton area so if you would like any details just ask. Plan for roughly 4.5 hours return trip given calm conditions and a short break at the Grotto.

  • The whole Bruce Peninsula is awesome to paddle, both the Georgian Bay side and Lake Huron. Paddled pretty well a good chunk of the BP coastline the last 25 years. Halfway Dump is a nice spot to paddle and hike also.

Beginners do beware, the weather can change on a dime so stay close to shore.

  • Nice video. Can't wait to get back up there to the Bruce Peninsula! It's so beautiful up there! You captured it nicely.

  • Cool vid - can't wait to get back out there ~~ lee xx
