I JUST got what my doctor calls an "Engraved Invitation". I have to get my yearly E.G.D. It's scheduled for March 23 this year. 4 years ago, I was violently ill, & had a Mallory-Weiss tear - a tear in the esophagas Now, I have to get this every year to check on the SLOW healing! Dang my body! I've got ENOUGH troubles!

I'm having an EGD done on Monday June 15th and was kinda nervous but watching your vid has eased my fears tremendously.......thanks!
Hey Tom,
I'm a 21 year old female and I'm completely healthy besides the fact that I've been having breathing problems lately and I'm getting an EGD on Monday. I'm a little bit nerrvous about it, just because I'm afraid I will stop breathing when they give me anesthesia. How long were you in the hospital. Do you have any words of comfort for me? Haha!

The EGD only takes about 10-15 mins. I was there for probably 1 hr after that waking up and getting my instructions from my doctor. It was no big deal at all. You will do just fine.

Glad I could be of help to you. Only thing to add to this video was that I did get really exhausted later that night. Might want to plan on resting after and not getting much done just in case. Tom

I will have this procedure done tomorrow morning in preparation for the Lap-Band surgery. Thank you very much for the informative video. It definitely calms my nerves to know that it really isn't that big of a deal. How long after the procedure does it take before you start to feel normal? How long are you left feeling groggy? Thanks again!!

Hi There. I left the center about 30-45 mins after the procedure. I felt totally normal in about 1.5 hrs. I had lunch out and was shopping about an hour after surgery. I did crash later that night and got really tired. But no big deal. Good luck with your lapband. Check out my contest this week. Cheers! Tom
