This award-winning critically acclaimed motion picture is based on the life and times of the last century's most famous portrait painter, Italian master Pietro Annigoni. From his artistic birth in Florence, to the height of his fame and fortune Annigoni pursued his own path, standing alone against the forces of modernism. Annigoni was a bohemian, a drinker, a fighter and a womanizer, yet the world's most powerful and celebrated people sought him out for portraits. Pietro Annigoni was once called the painter of beautiful women but chose instead to be the painter of beggars.

  • thank you for posting this!

What a shame there isn't a single curator of a museum in the United States brave enough to give this master a retrospective

  • May the world learn the genius of Pietro Annigoni.

  • Excellent work. I am proud to have acted in this wonderful film.

  • Looks really good, can anyone tell me the title of the first piece? the one of Christ, the sick and lame, don't understand it in the video.

  • After watching this video clip I bought the DVD of the feature length documentary "Annigoni: Portrait of An Artist". Not only is it an insightful look into Annigoni's life and work, but the documentary itself is a work of art! People don't make documentary films like this anymore. Not fast food, but a four-course meal. For those who are

turned off by cheaply made spoon-fed cable TV Biographies, with their wall-to-wall narration, watching this film is a real treat. Thoughful and insightful.

  • Extremely well done visually and with the concise comments about Annigoni, one learns so much in such a short spread.
