Semon was an amazingly genius slapstick comedian, one of my faves so don't listen to the silly haters and their ignorance.

@scolariphil okay...WRONG. But it's easy why you would say that. Truth is that Semon's best work has (you could say conveniently...) not survived. I understand all the greats you mentioned were truly great and better, but to speak of Semon like is kind of...extreme...

Semon was considered on par with Chaplin & keaton;this was not his strongest film, check THE SAWMILL...

Nice one. Where did you get it?
I'm looking for Semon's shorts and it's so tough!

@MagicFreddie Yes, I had to think about some of them too before I got 'em.

Who is interested in this freak, he is creepy to look at and has nothing to offer in the same way Langdon, Lloyd, Keaton and Chaplin do. Semon was as broad and as crude as they come, genius? I hardly think so he has nothing to offer the comedy world today!

@scolariphil Personally I'd say it is mediocre. But perhaps once you've seen mediocrity you'll be able to appreciate excellency and genius even better.
