Runaways Young Avengers #1

This is the first of a three part series and actually pretty important to the series. I’m surprised that Marvel didn’t hype this a little more and that we haven’t seen any of this stuff in the other books. It made a bit clearer the fact that the skrulls leading this invasion are members of an extreme religious faction and not necessarily representative of all skrulls. It also brought back, as readers of the young avengers will remember that Hulkling is supposedly the savior of the skrull race. It is being alluded to that saving the skrull race may just mean stopping their invasion of earth and removing the extremists from power. It’s pretty cool stuff. The only thing I didn’t like was the art it was cartoony and childish and just not appealing. That said the writing was great and the impact of the story makes it worth picking up.

I wouldnt say terrible artwork, I liked it a lot, however, you're right in a way because it didnt fit the violent nature of the Secret Invasion story at all.
