This is the re-encoded version of the video of the first start up of ALCo 804 at the Transeco centre aka Railword, at Peterborough on the 4th July 2009. The fuel rack on the 539 engine was open to overfuel the system but as the govenor had not yet been serviced the overspeed was tripping and cutting the fuel cut off hence the revs, smoke and then stopping. This was to be expected - the main aim of this cranking was to satisfy ourselves that the engine would fire; we knew more work was needed. Another video has been uploaded showing the engine idling after further work had been undertaken.
