  • @jordantanguay Cool! A fellow Spokane person. Thanks for the memory.

  • @stevers62 This story is really heartwarming and it reminds me of my mom. She got me a 7 foot Mariah Carey promo poster when I was 5 back in 1996 for Christmas (from Santa). It's now next to my piano in my apartment :) To top it all off, I also grew up in Spokane!

Also, this song is great. Just bought the album on vinyl at a used record store. A nice addition to my Babs collection :)

  • @stevers62 That's a great story! Almost like my coming out story.

  • @rambrewster Thanks much! You mentioned you are from a previous generation. I'd love to hear your story. My rebellion was not rock and roll, but Judy, Liza, Barbra, Ethel, etc. Judy Garland actually "outed" me to my parents. We were watching a show in which they asked if a character was gay, and they replied that he listened to a lot of Judy Garland music. Dead silence in the living room....since I had recently become obsessed with Judy. My parents have become wonderfully accepting.

  • @stevers62 thanks for sharing that lovely memory. As a previous generation's teenager who was similarly smitten, I can totally relate!

  • Just truly amazingly awesome!

  • there were so many really good songs from "WET"I was thrilled she did this album,in a way it was the old barbra with a tasteful twist.her heart and soul shined in this recording, personally i think barbra was in a really good place when she did this!and i think she would totally agree!

  • love this one.

  • As a young gay kid when this first came out, I was so excited to see the GIANT Barbra Streisand "Wet" poster at the Tower Records in Spokane, WA. I have great parents, and they knew I really wanted the poster so we stopped by. There was a very nice clerk who said they were done with the promotion, and simply gave it to me. It was in my room growing up, and when my partner and I host an occasional 70s party, the poster goes right back up. Thanks for posting this with all the other photos!!!
