The movie never says so straight out, but Frank was doing Rita, she was his sugar momma! In reality she was actually younger than Frank. Rita aged very rapidly, she was only in her late 30's during this movie, people would make comments on how she looks twice her age, they blamed drinking, but she was actually already suffering from alzheimer's.
