Last of the optional bosses in Final Fantasy I Dawn of Souls, Lifespring Grotto: Omega. Omega is a optional boss in Final Fantasy 5, and at least in my opinion he is (in the original FF5) the hardest boss, even if compared to anything else from original Final Fantasys from 1 to 10 + 12, I don't think anything was as tough as this guy.
Omega lives up to that expectations. He hits freakin hard, got a pretty harsh multi-target attack, super high defense, high speed, instant death attacks (quake) and is immune to all statuses, as well as halves all elements but lightning, which he is weak to, but that's barely noteworthy because of his high MDef. What does he not have? A chance after I buffed up.
Strategy is quite similar to the one at Shinryu, but given the lower damage Ramza will do I have to conserve Megalixirs after a while. I used all those stat uppers on Ramza, which even made him take very low damage from Omega in the end. I used Rune Staffs to conserve those Megalixirs, as well as a few Hi-Potions. This only worked after Ramza took all those Protect Drinks, they work pretty great especially with enemies preferring the upper characters. However, when Alma dies, it is something that has to be taken care of, two characters can do with Megalixirs but might just die when unlucky.
As for levels.. I was at 15 for Omega still, like for Shinryu. After this battle, a save-state from before forced exp of Lifespring Grotto was load to remove it and all spoils.
What amazes me about these challenges is how much stronger you can be while playing it... If you combined this with a normal runthrough, you'd be pretty much God!
By the way, why does earthquake keep missing you? what do you have on?

Earthquake is not a damage spell in this game, it is merely a death spell on everyone, which Ribbons give resistance to and which also misses frequently, so it is a turn waster on Omegas side mostly.
