Faded Love - Rex McGee

Another slower "two-step" style tune popularized by Bob Wills. It gets played in jam sessions frequently in and around my neck of the woods here in North Carolina. I learned this from my Uncle Cub, AKA William McGee, youngest of 15 brothers and sister, born in 1929.

How long it takes to learn to play songs like this ? and like ten penny bit ? I mean if i never played on a fiddle and want to learn it.... some months ? years ? weekends ?

@MrNagac ----it depends on one's other musical experience and natural ability. it doesn't take long to memorize the notes but it can take decades to develop a distinctive style.

@MrNagac I've been learning to play for almost 2 yrs now..IT'S SO HARD at times..but if you keep at it..IT WILL PAY OFF! it took me only 1 week to find the notes to faded love WITH THE HELP OF THESE YOU TUBE plares who SLOW IT DOWN SO THAT YOU CAN SEE WHERE THIER FINGERS ARE..now I'm working on SMOOTHING IT OUT AND MAKIN IT MY OWN..YOU CAN DO THIS..YOU REALLY CAN!

How many months will it take to learn this song with the double-stops? Umm, let's see... 10 or 12 years to learn to play smoothly, another 10 to learn how to play double and triple stops... 240??? But who's counting? Nice job, man.

@ MrNagac I have been playing for three months and can play Faded Love, but I doubt I could play it this well if I put another 10 years into it. There are other more average versions of Faded Love on youtube that a person with average abilities could build up to in under six months learning if you practiced every week. This particular rendition is spectacular.
