The overall casualties for the Allies was heavier against the Germans in the African and European theatres, the Allies overall took casualties of 3:1. 3 Allied men lost for every German.

I actually rather face a Japanese banzai charge than knowing there's an incoming SS regiment.

While in the pacific the US overwhelming firepower blasted the Japanese defenders from air, land and sea. The Pacific campaign usually had a kill death ratio of 1:11. 1 Allied soldier was lost for every 10-11th Jap.

You should read more about battles in Europe facing the German Wehrmacht. At the Battle of Falaise Pocket the allies lost around 209,672 casualties in around a week. At the Battle of Hurtgen Forrest, American forces took 33,000 casualties in some of the worst fighting. At the Battle of the Bulge American forces lost over 89,000 casualties, it was the bloodiest battle for American forces in WW2. As someone else said, 1 allied solder was lost for every 10 or 11th Japanese in the Pacific.

the thing that keeps taking me out of the series is reconizing certain actors from movies or shows i used to watch so i can really only see them as that character.

but then remember how many more soldiers allied soldiers fought in europe as compared to the pacific so naturally the casualties would be higher besides instead of checking allied to enemy dead ratio check the ratio of combat men available in each theater and what percentage became casualties its significantly higher in the pacific then in europe

Yes dead/wounded, though in the Japanese case the majority, over 90% were dead seeing as the Japs did not surrender and many died of disease and starvation on isolated islands.

Allied casualties were greater against the Germans cause they were equally prepared with artillery and tanks and performed better due to superior tactics and experience.

Many of the Marines in the Pacific were wounded by exhaustion and disease due to the climate conditions.

By lost, do you mean dead/wounded? Because one of the greatest reasons the Marines had such a staggering ratio in the pacific was due to the fact that the Japanese did not surrender. The Germans, did.

No matter which theater, be it Africa, Europe, Pacific, or Asia. I have an undying respect for all those men who fought. Whether they had a more brutal war or not, My respect ranges equally.
