Volunteers of YOG (Youth Olympic Games) received belated Formula One (F1) entry pass to the event scheduled to take place on 26 Sep 2010. Some actually got it a day after the event!
Glossary:
Vivian - Minister in charge of YOG
Wrong signature on certs - Volunteers of YOG from all over the world received certificates of participation for the YOG printed with wrong signatures of the organisers.
SingPost - Postal Agency of Singapore
Tai-ji thinking - The art of shifting blame and responsibilties to others instead of oneself. It is difficult to master for ordinary people as they are not talented enough.
S$387 million YOG budget - The original budget was US$75 million (S$104 million) ONLY. A budget for an international event has been overblown to almost 3 times! The Singapore government can apply for it to be accepted as part of the Guinness Book of World Records.
Dog food - YOG volunteers complained about low quality of food served to them by uploading online a picture of a meal. Some people remark that the food is even worse than real dog food!
