Quantum of Solace Bassey/Arnold rejected theme

A quick cut&paste job on my part to demonstrate but this has the Quantum theme running through it as heard in the incidental music cues throughout the movie so...?????
I think its another case of David Arnold being forced to discard KD Lang from Tomorrow Never Dies and Scott Walker from World is Not Enough as their Main titles but who knows?
All i know is that the lyrics tie-in nicely with the fact that Bond post-Casino Royale is bitter and heartbroken and therefore looking for "Solace"....End of Lecture!

OMG! This should have been the song for QoS!!! And it wasn't even in the end credits!!! So did the 'younger' pairing of White & Keys make a difference??? No, because the song sank without a trace and tanked faster than the motor oil going down Dominic Greene's gullet - very bad judgment by the Bond producers indeed.

Shirley Bassey should be singing all the bond themes! This song is perfect for James Bond. Just wish they would make their movies more like they used to be.

you're right about its proper use since bond lost a loved one and since casino royal was his first double 0 mission,this makes his first love lost since her first wife died way later(her majesty secret service)

Getting a LOT of reaction over this clip but check out my other version uploaded here which
is the un-tweaked version ie Shirley does not sound as "young" due to pitch and speed adjusts. Its a lot more laid back and possibly not as catchy?

Madness to us "normal" people when you listen to the lyrics of this theme with regard to the events of Casino leading into Quantum and Bond's frame of mind.
