More likely influenced by Daniel Lanois, who was the producer. Lanois also produced U2's "Unforgettable Fire", " The Joshua Tree" and "Achtung Baby", Peter Gabriel's "So ", Bob Dylan's "Oh Mercy" and "Time Out of Mind", Emmy Lou Harris' "The Wrecking Ball" and many, many more. He also has issued several albums of his own. He has an eclectic style that incorporates various and odd musical instruments. A veritable musical genius IMHO.
