コトリンゴ (Kotringo) - Jump Jump

Kotringo is a Japanese pop singer/songwriter. In 2005 she sent in a demo tape to Sakamoto Ryuichi's "Radio Sakamoto" Audition Corner and caught Sakamoto's interest. She would release her first single in November of 2006. Currently she continues writing, releasing, and performing.

The name "Kotringo" is a combination of sounds taken from the Japanese words for small birds (kotori) and apple (ringo). The name comes from the fact that Kotringo had always kept a pet bird since childhood, and because she used to eat an apple every day. The computer she uses in composing music is also an Apple.

Yes, a recent discovery this one! Well happy! I speak a little and read a little Japanese. Over the years I listened to so much western music and the repetitions were becoming too frequent. Then I discovered Japanese music! And it is in many ways just like discovering music all over again! One day I will live there.

I see what you mean regarding music. That's why I switched to classical music and jazz some years ago, I was tired of pop and rock. So, one day, you'd like to live in Japan. What happened there is terrible. I hope the surviving people from the devastated north-east will be all right. Hopefully they can fix the crippled nuclear power plant quickly without further contaminations. Frightening.

Nice discovery. Amazing how many original and unusual pop artists there are in Japan. Do you speak/read Japanese? I saw several Japanese uploads on your channel.
