Never heard this version before. More heavy metal, but these guys didn't need a gutitar player.

Played this a lot on land based pirate, Radio 259, out of Burnham, Bucks in 1969 with 100 watts on a full wave aerial.
Reports came in from everywhere, but the music was the inspiration.

Is it supposed to call Azrael?

Azrael is the correct spelling of the angel of death. However, I have used the spelling on the record label.

Sorry, don't know where you'll find the lyrics. Not easy to decipher them from the record.

The first time I saw the Nice they were backing P.P. Arnold at the Windsor Jazz Festival, I think in 1967. After that they broke away and started their own thing. They began to take off nationally after they got their residency at The Marquee club, but it took ages before the word got out and they had any real audiences..I remember going to see them religiously week after week, and there were only a few people watching. Then one day it all took off. Excellent memories! Thanks for posting.

I used to go and see them at the Marquee too, every week. Think it was a Tuesday or Thursday night. They were brilliant.
