Crash Lab: Breaking the Rules
A foundation year project at Parsons the New School for Design
Faculty: Andrea Dezso + Tamar Samir
Participants (in order of appearance): Giselle Wynn, Renaldo Ribeiro, Katharine Teague, Jenny Holt, Lauren Hodges, Hasita Kamlesh, Katherine Yaksich, Pedro Maccise, Linnea Gad.

Rules were made to be broken.
Acknowledging and breaking the rules of "good typography", we wrote/used haikus that reflect a state of mind, and experimented with hand made typography to create a series of atmospheric visual narratives. All the short films were shot in a guerrilla stop motion style, using digital still cameras; and then imported into After Effects to sequence, add sound and create simple effects.

This project was inspired by the art and typography work of Andrea Dezso, Marian Bantjes, and Stefan Sagmeister.
