  • My brother had the manual release gate. It dropped about half way down, but you had to push it the rest of the way.

I seem to recall the key switch on theback was a three position switch. Turn the key left the window opened, turn it half way to the right the tailgate opened. If you turned it all the way to the right both opened at once.

  • In fact:

turn it 1/3 right: window opens

turn it 2/3 right: tailgate opens

al the way: both open at same time

Same for closing when key is turned to the left

  • @75RivGS

I seem to recall seeing a wagon with the door down and the window closed? was this possible on the power door version or only on a manual door version where someone must have closed the window without raising the door?

  • they had that kinda high tech stuff back then? i woulda been showin off at all the supermarkets and drive ins ..... lol

  • @manoman0 For some reason I thought it would have a 455 V8 engine

  • @Doobie1975 it was a 350 with rougly 180 hp

  • @manoman0 How much power does your car have? I've always liked the GM full size cars of the early 1970s

  • @Doobie1975 Best one could ever buy....

  • By todays standards that's a really cool feature...in the early seventies it had to be mind bending

  • WOW!

  • @ford9572 yes it breaks mine aswell, theres not enough respect
