  • ironwood is one of the best bow woods i can get my hands on and can i just ask does it make good d-shaped bows?

  • @loadedClownZ Ironwood can make some strong bows, but the main problem I see with it is that ironwood bows tend to suffer from string follow, even more commonly then hickory.

  • @Agincourtwarbow i live in australia and ironwood is common enough here so i think i may give it a try. due to the string follow i will eventually lose some draw weight wont i but for some backyard target practice it should be good?

  • @loadedClownZ Oh aye go for it mate! Don't get me wrong, Ironwood is good wood and can make a mighty bow! I'll be working on some more Ironwood bows myself once me new staves dry. A friend of mine has a beauty Ironwood warbow, as straight as a board. The skill of the bowyer ofcourse is what it all comes down to. It is just that a stringfollow set is the common weekness of ironwood bows (Canadian anyways!). Best of luck to you mate!

  • @loadedClownZ Oh by the way, if I were you i'd look up 'Warbows Australia' they're a great group much like the EWBS, keeping the english warbow alive!

    Cheers

I'll take a look at that vid. Thanks. I shoot more modern style longbows for hunting but have always wanted a traditional English Yew warbow.

  • @thecuddlemoose Hey thanks mate. This bow is an 80lb Ironwood warbow. Unfortunatly he does not sell them he only makes them for people a group I am involved in, sorry.

If You would like to see a Yew English warbow I shoot a 90lber in my newer video. Thanks for your comment mate!
