This video lesson series is recommended to be watched in order so that it makes total sense. A lot of guitar players can find the notes, but then what do you do with them? just exactly HOW do you make them sound good, or rather, how do you make notes from a scale or mode sound like a guitar solo?

In this 4 part video lesson, we will take a look at the basic principles for creating a cool sounding guitar solo. Some people get overwhelmed by this and don't know what they are doing, and this DOES require that you experiment on your own time, but if you are aware of some of the common themes to think about when creating any guitar solo - it becomes a lot more manageable and overall - easier.

Hope you enjoy. If I left anything out or made some mistakes I apologize. I did this totally on the fly, and there is still always SO much to be talked about here.

  • Hi! Great lesson, really inspirational! :D

For soloing, would you suggest learning many different modes and scales, apart from the ionian and aeolian modes?

So basically is it necessary to learn like the mixolydian mode or the phrygian mode?

    Thanks a ton!
