This is part nine of John Lennon's absolute last interview ever with RKO Radio. This was recorded in Studio One at The Dakota on the very day of his death just hours before he was murdered. View the rest of my videos for the rest of this interview in its entirety.

  • i thought he also got his haircut that day

  • @treasureoftunes

He got his haircut either on December 5th or December 6th.

  • The point is... it is so shocking to think that, in fact, by this time his assassin was actually at the gates of Dakota, already saw him -leave for the studio and get back for the interview-, and when he left this interview minutes later he would give him his autograph. And then, afterwards, when he came back, we all know. So, the bastard was already downstairs, chasing the guy, waiting to kill him. It really gives me nauseas, makes me almost vomit literally. What a motherfucker.

The only time that John left The Dakota on December 8th was to go to the studio which is when he signed MDC's album. He was home the rest of the day.

  • He says he found his true self and true love. It can't get better than that in a relationship, but in the name of peace and love the two of them promoted, he, with Yoko's help, dumped and literally left behind his first son and first wife. No child support. Nothing. Did they deserve THAT? Did Cynthia Lennon deserve finding John and Yoko in her bedroom smoking pot as the first message to her that she was being replaced? Great love story, alright. And sad ending.

  • I love how Yoko gives the half laugh like "You son of a bitch" after John cuts her off at the very very beginning when he jumps to answer the question, "IT WAS IMMEDIATE!" Yoko: "... heh heh..."

  • I am certain that John had left the Dakota early that day, as I remember speaking to a woman at the Cafe La Fortuna (W 71st street), who had seen him in there having breakfast on 8th December 1980. He went there often, early, for breakfast, or just coffee and a Gitanes cigarette.

  • The day Lennon got shot was the day the generation got defeated ( and everything JL represented or was imposed upon as a symbol). Everything has been downhill since then.....

  • @NeilFraudstrong Oh, okay... I had this idea according to the MDC´s interview with Larry King.. (didnt he say he first saw him pass, when he was with that fan -first time just saw him pass, second time he asked him for the autograph-).. Anyway, so that morning JL did the photos for Annie Leibowitz, and just stayed home... And so the RCO people and Yoko were waiting for him but he was where? Just upstairs?

  • @NeilFraudstrong Not to criticyze... But Yoko definetely changes her temper completely from when she´s alone to when John arrives. Some dirty mouths say that, by this time, JOhn was seriously thinking of dumping her. I dont think so, I dont know. He seems pretty much in love. Just commenting, hope it doesnt sound horrible

  • Yoko's "cure" obviously didn't work because John smoked until the day he died.
