@Liddlelegrande You need to stop seeing the Soviet Union as this super stand alone force. WWII was a joint victory on the part of the Allies.

@Liddlelegrande You seem to be forgetting the North African Campaign which ended in May 13 1943. Germany had to support their pathetic Italian allies so they were forced to divert a good amount of their resources into North Africa. Not only that but a good part of the Luftwaffe was being used in Operation Sea Lion. On top of that the Nazi Tank battalions were neutered after the battle of Moscow because of the Russian Winter.

@Liddlelegrande DDay was on June 6th, 1944. Red Army took Stalingrad on 2 February 1943. By Dday the Red Army was in Poland about to enter Germany proper. The only reason the other allies launched dday is because they knew that Soviet Union had already won the war. Dday was 200,000 allies fighting 10, 000 german troops. Even mentioning dday next to stalingrad is an insult.

@warnpassion i think no one really can be a winner of WWII

@jwelcome9 And that's very dumb of you to reply to this comment like that.

The Allied victory was a product of every nation that fought against Hitler. If the US had not stepped in then the Russians would have been defeated. Hitler was throwing everything he had at Stalingrad but after D-day Hitler had to quickly bring forces to the western front to try and stop the Anglo and American advance. This then allowed the Russians to be able to break the stalemate in Stalingrad and advance west. WWII was a joint victory there was no one victor but many victors

@warnpassion that is one of the dumbest comments ever

@warnpassion 23 Million casualties. It's horrible, but they returned the favor... big time. I have a friend who grew up in Russia. She's the most badass gardener I know.
The Russians were the real victors of the second world war.

Great video! The Russians were lucky to have won this one, so many brave men fighting in fear of Stalin's lunacy. So many men period.
