Lucky...I don't think so...the water is so clear that you should be able to see who and what you're sharing the water with. Additionally, this was the result of some unusual baiting. It's the shark's turf so avoid dawn and dusk but the snorkeling is terrific and not to be missed in the BVI. We were in the water prior to this event and after and never saw another and we all felt safe. If anyone is fishing, I'd avoid the area for snorkeling. Enjoy!
