  • I would rather just buy a winch I could never remember all this.

  • @variable159 The Hi-Lift Jack and Off-Road Kit aren't designed to replace a winch. However, not everyone can afford a winch. Also, there are situations that make more sense to move the vehicle backwards or to the side instead of forward. Just another option to use a Hi-Lift.

  • Props to this guy for forcing his was through an incredibly dry description. Did they really have to make him say 3/8ths chain every time, and giving the entire names?

  • @Faren254 crap! He didn't say what size the cotter pin is!

  • Yes,come a long is faster, but is less sturdy, can fly apart, kill you. Moving the nose or tail of truck sideways is more likely to be what you need when stuck, for that the hi lift is easier than hoisting nose or tail with come a long.

The hi lift jack + off road is thus dual purpose.

If you are stuck, and could chose between a come a long or hi lift jack (even without the off road kit) usually you would chose the jack. 1) Lift up 2) lots of beer cans under the wheels 3) drive away.

  • You can also use it to lift your car easily with the Lift mate if you have got spoke wheels.

  • it's good if you don't have a buddy to pull you out.

  • do not attempt this without Hi-Lift brand gloves!

  • I think he was reading the instruction manual word for word. I agree with variable 159...and I can't imagine needing to do this in Death Valley heat or Minnesota cold...or anywhere in between for that matter.

  • i gave a thumbs up just because it a great idea, but my come-a-long works faster and has a longer pul range and a lot simpler to use and hook up.

  • No offense to this guy, but his voice made me want to kill myself. I really have never hated a voice this much.
