In this video the antenna cable is attached and a tracking for the best wifi signal of already connected network is now working, the tracking is done every 3 seconds to test if it is working but it will be adjusted for final program.
The antenna first searches for direction of best wifi signal from any network, then the antenna keeps tracking of the connected network for best reception from it.

more information about this system will be available soon.

  • Is it controlled with an Arduino.

    Great work btw...

I would really love to make myself one of those baby's. I have just ordered a antenna a few days ago.. 26 db Directional antenna.. would be great for this project :P

But I will probably have a servo or stepper on up and down also...

  • No it is controlled by an arduino, it is controlled by a controller comes with the motor, but it can be made easily.

26 dbi antennas seems to be bigger than the cantenna, so it will need a bigger motor.

btw,i'll post all details of this project as soon as possible.

  • I never would have thought of that... I want one of those!

  • Construction steps and program will be available soon :)

  • can you tell me what the architecture of this antenna ?

  • i would like to build simillar project myself. I'm quite good at programing in c++. Could you help me with some blueprints of the device you made.

  • Any details on software for this thing?

I was thinking of doing a similar thing, inside windows 7 it would be pretty easy to use netsh within a program for this, output serial commands to a microcontroller with a stepper motor.

  • Wow fast response!

  • pretty cool - id love to do this with my wiffy extreme
