there is shady people in every line of work i know people for apx where the family didnt pass credit he ran it under his brothers name to get his comission but at least 80% of door to door alarm guys arent that bad i sold alarms i will tell you though its a much better idea then it is actual product there is between 5 to 10 different ways to break into a house without setting the alarm off depending on the equipment.
this is so sensationalized...using a bathroom means they gotta go, not to scan a home for a future break in. Unless the dude seems shady from the beginning, you're good to go! Just judge their character and go with your gut; this lady on the video is paranoid...
I've been selling alarms door to door for 2 years. Ive sold to Border Patrol Agents, mayors, fire chiefs, and city judges among many other people. Ive made well into the 6 figures for 2009. And I've got to say that the story you see here is such a misrepresentation of alarm reps. It makes all of us look bad as a whole. In Texas, alarm reps must be licensed by the DPS private Security Bureau to make sure certain bad eggs dont get into your home. But did they report that? NO... shoddy work Ch 10..
, I guarentee you was APX. Those kids are young, and do not know proper sales etiquette. Most of them were not ever licensed with the Texas departmet of publice safety's private security bureau. In this case they guy did nothing wrong. He had to take a leak. The woman has a right to be concerend but did it warrant a news story? There are lots of other bonified alarm reps out there that are top notch.

This is a joke. The poor kid had to take a pee. End of story. If she felt uncomfortable with him using the bathroom she should have told him no.

1- Lady says it sounds like a good idea.
2- She signs up for it
3- Rep has to pee. Nothing is taken from the bathroom.
4- The system is installed
5- The sales rep loses his key and asks for it back.
6- Old man cynic shows his expertise
7- Speculation wins the news
