D-THINKER.COM All The Young Dudes and Heroes
Clear skies, plenty of sun, The Isle of Wight festival is back. Almost gone are the 70’s festival faithful dressed in ‘eco multi-coloured dream coats’, living in a hazed world behaving like over-sexed rabbits.

Today it is their heirs’, the ‘well heeled’ generation, in designer T-shirts and trainers, those indulging in what used to be the mandatory festival pastimes few and far between. Put this aside the atmosphere has that original festival feel, overflowing toilets, discarded beer bottles and cups carpeting the arena, wafting odours of the festival ‘greasy spoon’ hot food stalls only topped by the lavishing of sun cream served up on lobster like rockers. Add this to a line up that might just have been on a wish list and the stage was set for an unforgettable weekend. The Who and David Bowie supported by The Manic Street Preachers, The Charlatans and Steve Harley , plus many more, indeed a dream line up. That ‘I was there’, the feel good factor fades all the less favourable memories.

  • Beautiful. I love this man.

  • You had to be in 1972 when if you was a boy who liked David Bowie - you were classed as 'A queer' and got grief for it - i am so glad I went with it coz it shows you you in 2009 I got it right and saw talent.

  • I love that he notices his audience when he pointed at someone in the audience. Beyoncé did that aswell on her Beyoncé Experience tour: "You in the blah blah T-shirt, I see you!" It's sweet

  • great...i am pissed. i told you not to sing lol

  • Just to watch Mr . Bowie dancing "gangsta" 1 min 9 sec into the video, was worth it. He's trying to keep up with the times coyly & pays it off.

  • As the worlds biggest Bowie fan, I find this comment hard to digest. This song defines a generation and is one of Bowie's finest moments. This is Bowie's third best song EVER!!!

One being Absolute Beginners and two being Fantastic Voyage.

Why he plays Hallo Spaceboy, Fame, Stay and I'm Afraid of Americans at near enough every show is more of a concern.

  • why oh why does he choose to play "all the young dudes" at short sets like this? he has scores and scores of better songs! oh well, at least it's bowie ;-)

  • i hate you.. you dont regrets and die you for you...

    please come back.. bowie...

    please!11

  • he was so into this concert!

The lance of love shines at 1:25 =P

  • God I was there it was so great, love & peace to you all
