@lghaze42 not really ,tvs LED/PLASMA they last at the same time frame it really goes on how well u keep the tv like takeing care of it ,u can have a tv for 10 to 15 years and not have any problems if u know how to keep the tv in good use,those days of saying what tv last the longest are over and done with that mid 2000 .Were in 2012 now .

because of addicional engineering works(because of Japan Earthquake), Panasonic INCREASED steps of GRADATION form 6,144 in vt 30 to 24,576 !!!!!!! in vt50 which is NOW smooth - i hope.
Samsung already in 9000 model have smooth gradation 18 bit panel.

Why is everybody so hung up on OLED?It is still using LED's or diodes that will burn out.Plasma has alot longer lifespan.
