Canadians are still a wonderful people. The Government of Canada, however, has completely changed laws, actions & behaviour of the country of Canada. We hate our government now. They got into power with less than 1/3 of the votes. We're now in the position Americans were in under George Bush.

I am a pipeline surveyor and from what I can tell those surveyors were locating her property corners which is required for a certified plat. I know its not right but if she refuses the pipeline she WILL get condemned and she'll get bottom dollar for her land. She would be wise to just take the money. Besides, a pipeline doesn't tear up the land like everyone thinks. They build the line and replace everything except trees. They even reseed the land with native grass.

In manitoba Canada a land surveyor can come onto your property without notice with reason and if you deny them access they can get the police to escort them onto said property.

Trans Canada is a highway in Canada. They don't have to pay for your land, they can just expropriate it if your being a pain in the ass.
