I have read the Quran several times now. I really dont underestand what you guys are talking about.

Every verse in the quran is defensive or limited.

Jamal Badawi is a schollar. What he is saying almost the whole muslim world agree.

The problem with you is that muslim cant say anything becaus you will say they are doing a form of Taquiya....

Then first of all why talking with them why even debating with them if they only lie ???

I have my muslim friends and they never lied to me, I went to Morocco and they were very nice with me.

I read the Quran, and there is nothing such as taquiya....

@Logia1978 I don't think you get it... Badawi was saying we can be friends BUT he is going against the teachings of the Qu'ran by doing so. The Pastor was reiterating the Qu'ran's position (which are opposed to peace between Muslims and non belivers). Badawi seems to gloss over verses that are against peace in order to keep with Western moral ideals; most likely as a form of 'taqiya'.

@commentcent My understanding is that a Muslim must totally obey and submit to his god, Allah. Surah 5:51 reads, [O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who take them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guide not wrongdoing folk.] I am a Christian. I want you to lie to me by telling me that you can take Jews and Christians as friends and still be in total obedience and submission to Allah.

Also tell me this one thing, if there is "No compulsion in religion" in islam then why do islamic nations keep the penalty for apostosy as death?
