The third track from Lynott's studio session in November 1985. This was another track that was intended for his third solo album that was never finished. This song is an update of the Grand Slam song "Harlem"; similar music and melody, but completely different lyrics.

  • One Question....WTF is Huey Lewis, and what does he have to do with the musical genius known as Phil Lynott

  • LMAO! That's the funniest thing I've read all day.

In all seriousness, he's the guy that was working with Lynott on these tracks (Huey Lewis and the News). Lynott gave Lewis his big break in the music biz, he's also on some of the demos and solo material Lynott has done, usually playing harmonica. Good musician, but I can't stand 'Huey Lewis and the News'...ugh...

  • Ahh I see now thank you for the reply...I'm not much up on music history, but I've heard of Ditch Cassidy and the news , who play in Malahide(Ireland) from time to time, any relation to Huey and the news?

  • NP, Not that I know of, but I'm not an expert on HL and the news...I don't think anyone would be.

  • This song should become a classic. Why are not any musos making something out of it for themselves and the world community. At least it should be remastered by a top producer.

  • This is a music legend Phillip Lynott

    I TELL YOU!

It's always hard times for good guy's

    in these times

Phil pushed his life with love rhymes and passion

From start to the limits, throught to the end.

May your heart guide your sins out of heaven

  • @shantolog - Huey Lewis played harmonica on tour with Thin Lizzy and is also featured on the album 'Live and Dangerous' ... I met Huey and he is a nice guy, not too vocal about his days with Lizzy, but he answered my questions, and was very thoughtful of Phillip Lynott.

  • LYRICS PLEASE!!

  • It's a Fucking shame phil died when he did would of ruled the 80s he was just getting in to his prime

  • @thinnestlizzy I'll set it strait. Alan Byrne was wrong. HLN cut this & 'Still Alive in Sausalito CA and if Mutt was on holiday it wasn't in California. Huey wasn't concentrating on his band; he got Phil over to try and salvage his career 'cause we were huge at the time. Regarding the Mutt 'Gang Chorus,' the BVs are my arrangements completely and, in fact, I sing the top two parts. That's the real story; do away with the mystery. It was the last time I ever saw my pal Phil. J. Colla HLN

  • this man is the reason i got in to music!

  • @blacksabfan was phil lynott involved in helping lewis's band "clover" get gigs in england? as i recall, huey lewis had a bit of hipster "cred" in those days. he hung out with people like nick lowe and elvis costello and even appeared on their albums. so i always assumed that lynott collaborated with lewis so the veteran rocker could prove to new wave audiences that he was still "hip" and "with it." (lewis then went back to the us, founded the news, and became the very ANTITHESIS of hip.)

  • This is BANGIN'!

Huey lewis should of just stayed with Phil

  • Badass Song! Phil was a genius! Phil Lynott my all time favorite musician! Phil Lynott + Thin Lizzy FOREVER!!!

  • Can somebody give me a lyrics for this song? And btw great song, i love it.

  • god damn this is a damn good song. What could have been :(
