@fibroids7 Ok lol are u an African person who was raised to practice voodoo? I cant imagine how you can refute something that's common knowledge at my university. My wording may have been harsh but its pretty accurate.What i did forget to add is that most Haitians used a mixture of their Yoruban rituals with Christianity.Many did so bc it was illegal for slaves to practice any religion aside from Christianity so they used Christian names to hide that they were praying to their African ancestors.

That girl is very incorrect. The idea of voodoo or black magic was invented by Europeans to stop slaves from practicing their tradition of praising their ancestors. Even the term "black" magic was used to particularly refer to "black" people practicing their own religions. Woodoo manifested our of white xenophobic fears toward black people. It was tradition to praise their ancestors but white people cannot handle the idea of other races praising anything or anyone that does not resemble them.
