the John Cena HEEL debate... Wrestling fans SHOULD NOT be concerned with his merchandise sales

My thoughts on the John Cena "turning heel" topic, which has once again come up here on Youtube.

Why are people so concerned about whether or not John Cena's merchandise sales are going to go down if he turns heel? What business is it of yours as a wrestling fan whether or not Cena's merchandise sales drop? Are you a wrestling fan or the financial advisor to WWE?

Furthermore, it's not like John Cena would be a heel forever. He would probably be heel for a year or less, then he would go back to being a face, and his merchandise sales would once again skyrocket.

I also talk about how a John Cena heel turn would never have the kind of impact or shock value that Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin's heel turns had.

With all that being said, WWE and Vince Mcmahon cares about John Cena's merchandise sales, but wrestling fans should not be concerned about it.

Also, keep in mind, as several people pointed out in the comments section, heels can sell merchandise too.

Dude yu have a great point! And for those ppl who worry about Merch sales dnt worry about it, if he turns heel and kids dnt buy his stuff, his original fans will make up the slack. Dnt worry if he goes heel im buying everything he has lol

Look,its not the fans that worry about the merchandise sale,I mean why would the fans be concern about the merchandise sale of "a company"?All they wanted is a great and entertaining show.The main reason why Cena is still face today is because the "company" concern about the sales of Cenas merchandise.See the difference?Anyway,if Cena turns heel as the Chain Gang or Thugonimics,im sure the merchandise sale wont be any different because "we" will replace the kids.

Cena is nothing more but a marketing device with no real wrestling ability like Hulk Hogan was. As long as the little Jimmies and clueless young girls who love him keep on buying his shirts & caps, WWE will continue to keep things the way they are even if Cena keeps getting booed by real wrestling fans at every live event.

I think Cena will turn heel before or at wrestlemania. They are already creating CM Punk as the new WWE hero. When Cena turns heel all of his future matches will be so much more interesting than they are now. Word is that he's quietly working on a new rap album, I think it's release will coincide with his heel turn. I can't wait!

What does turning someone heel have to do with actual wrestling ability? look at cena when he was a heel, he was doing nothing differently. I swear adult wrestling fans always go gaga for anybody who turns heel just like how kids go gaga for anybody who turns face. Cena will turn heel when he isnt popular anymore, by then there wont be any kids around to cry for that.

@BuddyBros thing is only thing i don't like about tna. is fact they have old way past there time old guys in there 60's wast all tv time. flair who is 65 yrs olde hogan who is 60. hogan and flair can't draw big ratings or big ppv buys. this is not 1991-1998 anymore these old guys need to go. if dixie had a brain she would pink slip flair and hogan because they are not drawing big ratings or large arenas!

@Entrycut wwe and vince called up bret hitman hart. had bret hart (who was not on wwe tv 13 years. bret hart and hbk work promo and hug draw 5 million viewers. smart move on vince and wwe part. bret hart and vince might now be friends outside ring. but at least they did it for business side.
