Everything you need to know really is "stay with Windows-7". That Microsoft has removed familiarity as a reason to stay with them is a huge blunder. Apple is already gaining market share. Android devices are already doing a lot of stuff for folks. People who really need a PC but have a low budget can often get used hardware free of charge and then to avoid copyright violations, they can stick Puppy Linux on it and browse the web etc without any cost of the PC.

it works fine with a non touch laptop except you obviously use the mouse and keyboard instead of the screen
