From what I've heard there will be a option to use a more standard desktop as opposed to Metro, but I will not be surprised that they'll try to make Metro the standard in one or two windows iterations. If that happens I think we will finally see a substantial migration of common household users to an alternative OS, most likely a *nix based one. Beside, M$ is overreacting to the idea that tablets will replace traditional computers. Maybe it will happen, but not over night.

This New desktop looks absolutelly horrible! Hoply there is a way to change it back to look like one in Win 7! If not then Linux sounds very tempting

Making OS'es easier to use? Ha! Bullshit! The way companies are trying to make OS'es easier i taking out features that actually made the OS easy and putting in useless shit. If there will be anyway to get rid of that shitty Metro style Start menu (which should only be on phones, not full computers) I will do just that.

I'd love to see you installing drivers for the devices NOT supported by linux, looking for linux versions of the most popular win applications and playing PC games.Wake up,mate! I'm an IT pro and i k'now that linux is very potent and can be amazingly flexible,but it's only useful for profressional platforms like servers or industrial computers. .Using linux at home, as your primary (and only) OS means that you are eighter: an IT-Hipster, no-lifer, masochist ...or combination. -_-
