@Dusty341 Crap. You see? I need to watch that movie again now. In reality, I've only seen that movie once even though I was a Marine.

@disrxt How dare you disgrace Muad'Dib! His name is a killing word. ;p

Nice simple explaination. "it's true because I want it to be" For me ,No translation that I've ever seen is trustworthy because of it's contents. I don't care if we had the original scrolls written by the hand of Moses, Matthew, or Paul. Any book that advocates Genocide cannot be trusted.

@disrxt Believe me, I'm not trying to advocate that position, just that I know how it works, and pretending that its not circular doesn't make sense. However, even using the Bible to try to prove the Bible is correct fails.

@violentlygraceful And what exactly is this 'evidence'? Just so you know, using the Bible as evidence that the Bible contains evidence that the Bible is evidence is specious. I could prove that Frank Herbert's novel 'Dune' is the devine revelation of Muad'dib with that kind of circular reasoning.

John Piper always comes across as a little nutty in the videos I've seen of him.
The other day, I was reading about an argument for Christian belief without evidence. This made absolutely no sense to me, because there wouldn't be any Christian belief without evidence. It seems to me that once you've been convinced by the evidence, you can act like no longer need the evidence.
Grabasstic at about 4:12... Wow, I didn't have to look that up, but I did because I didn't really believe it was a word. Interesting. I like it.

@CraniumOnEmpty I learned it from an my old football coaches, and later reminded of it when I saw Full Metal Jacket for the first time. Remember? "You aren't even grabasstic pieces of amphibian shit!"
