The Tuareg are a nomadic Berber community found throughout the Sahara in North Africa. Aboubacar 'Anana' Harouna is a Tuareg from Niger, who fled with his family to Libya when he was twelve and is now based in Brussels. He sings in the the Tuareg's native Tamasheq language and plays guitar in the desert blues style popularised by groups like Tinariwen. He is the leader of the Brussels-based band Kel Assouf, which has recently brought out the excellent album 'Tin Hinane'. He's performing solo in an intimate atmosphere for this lunchtime concert in Brussels at Theatre Moliere, where Muziekpublique hosts a folk and world music centre.
