It's a real shame that good people like her have to go through so much turmoil in life. George's father got what he deserved in the end. Too bad it didn't happen sooner and saved them all some hardship.

Absolutely, staying with her husband and raising her children with such a violent man had a damaging effect on all the kids. There's no question about that.
