interesting thought moghedien. I find him sublime in this role and live, he was briliant. even domingo. superior with those who had the 'coloratura' which there isn't that much in this role.

i think his the colour and quality of his voice where def great for it, but i dont think he had the coloratura to do mozart. his agility and skill with runs were mediocre at best

This is just gorgeous; I wish Pavarotti had done more of this type of music, as it is perfect for his voice. All the singers are fabulous, and beautifully balanced and musical. What a great opera! It's the greatest of all OPERE SERIE, IMO.
